AYURVEDIC-YOGA MASSAGE
Origin
It has origin in the Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, where the practice of yoga is a daily discipline to maintain balance and harmony between body and mind.
The disciple can achieve more flexibility and opening in the most difficult yoga postures by using the body as an instrument of support and lever.
The famous yoga master from Poona (India) M.S. Iyengar introduces into yoga the use of objects like chairs, wooden bricks and ropes, to help beginners to relax in every posture of this practice from start to finish.
Master Kusun Modak, Iyengar's disciple for many years, started to transform this "passive yoga" into a rehabilitation technique, combining the traditional ayurvedic massage with yoga exercises
Technique
This rehabilitation technique originates from India and is based on traditional ayurvedic massage and yoga.
For the massage pure oil and plant roots are used. These help the body to expel the toxins that have been accumulating in muscles and tissues.
This discipline employs passive yoga exercises or stretching to increase joint mobility and ligament flexibility, and is thus an excellent tool for motor rehabilitation.
In addition, a very ancient technique is used involving pressure with the feet on the back, the arms and the legs. This provides a very deep relaxation to the muscles, and gives a strong stimulus to the blood circulation, thus delaying the aging process.
